3M™ Wind Protection Tape 2.1 is a tough, abrasion and puncture resistant polyurethane leading edge protection tape with pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive. The Wind Protection Tape helps prevent and reduce leading edge erosion damage on wind turbine blades caused by rain, sand, dirt and other debris. 3M Wind Protection Tape 2.1 can be applied quickly and consistently and is suitable for OEM factory as well as field repair and maintenance applications.

3M™ Wind Protection Tapes 2.1 have excellent UV resistance and can be used to help protect wind turbine blade surfaces from expensive-to-repair and power-robbing damage caused by minor impacts and erosion from rain, sleet, sand, dirt, or other debris. Rotating at speeds of up to 200 MPH (320 kph), wind turbine blades consistently encounter an array of environmental factors – including rain, sand, hail, and salt spray – which can cause significant damage that is both expensive to repair and reduces the blades' aerodynamic and power generating efficiency. 3M Wind Protection Tape's uniform construction enables faster, more consistent LEP installations in both OEM and field applications. The durable material provides long-lasting protection that helps reduce blade maintenance costs and helps keep wind turbines generating at peak performance.
