3M™ Scotchgard™ Multi-Layer Protective Film 1004MS is a four-layer, optically transparent, pressure-sensitive polyester film can be custom cut to fit polycarbonate or other smooth surfaces subject to frequent damage from scratching, cutting, abrasion, chemical etching and permanent markers. A defaced film layer is easily removed, exposing a fresh protective sheet.

Quick, Easy Surface Renewal
3M™ Scotchgard™ Multi-Layer Protective Film 1004MS features a specially formulated adhesive designed to resist bubbling caused by out-gassing of polycarbonate, acrylic and other plastic surfaces. The film allows you to conveniently remove graffiti or other defacements in seconds to help maintain a good image and feeling of safety. It is recommended for the interior polycarbonate windows of public transit vehicles. Can also be used to help protect the windows of public transport shelters, map cases and other polycarbonate surfaces that periodically require surface renewal. Thick polyester film construction prevents typical scratches from affecting layers below, and protects surface from chemical etching agents such as Bath Etch™ or Armour Etch™. Additionally, the high-clarity film maintains a glass-like appearance yet blocks more than 98% of UV light, protecting plastics and fabric from fading and deterioration.

3M™ Scotchgard™ Multi-Layer Protective Film 1004MS can be custom cut by 3M, a local converter or simply hand cut. When the film is custom cut it is easy to install without trimming or waste to deal with.

Multi-Layer Convenience Saves Time and Money
Multi-layer construction reduces total application and removal costs versus single layer protection. Application of the four layer film means great cost savings on both labor and materials. Single layer products may leave behind residue and require additional surface cleaning procedures. Our multi-layer film is cost effective and less labor intensive than replacing the glass, polycarbonate, or other original surface.

Application Tips
3M™ Scotchgard™ Multi-Layer Protective Film requires special tools and equipment for optimal installation. Please see 3M™ Scotchgard™ Multi-Layer Protective Film Application and Removal Instruction technical bulletin.

3M™ Science. Applied to Life
Replacing defaced surfaces is costly and time-consuming, often resulting in long-term marred appearances. 3M™ Scotchgard™ Multi-Layer Protective Films offer an easy, clean solution for removing vandalism, scratching, or etching that occurs on the surfaces of public transportation vehicle windows, bus shelters, restroom mirrors, map cases, elevators, and escalators. Convenient restoration of surface appearances is another example of how 3M engineers apply science to improve life and business.
