Our Company’s Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion and Progress

We’ve established a goal to double the pipeline of diverse talent in management by 2025 across all countries. We’ve made progress, and we’re committed to doing even more. To date, more than 50 percent of our top 100 leaders are diverse, and 30 percent of our board members are women.

    Our CEO’s Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion

    The commitment to Diversity & Inclusion starts at the top. 3M’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mike Roman, has created a CEO Inclusion Council—a group of diverse 3M leaders from across the globe that focuses on elevating and prioritizing actions to build a more inclusive and competitive workplace.

    Mike also signed the Catalyst CEO Champion for Change pledge. Together with 50+ other global companies and Catalyst Inc., a leading global nonprofit helping to build workplaces that work for women, Mike and 3M made strong organizational commitments to support diversity, inclusion and gender equality at work.  

Employee Resource Networks

3M supports employee communities that champion inclusion and work across the company to engage and empower our people and enrich our culture. 3M’s Employee Resource Networks give employees an opportunity to network, collaborate and enhance their leadership skills.

    This group works to foster a general awareness of 3M LGBTQ employees and allies by recognizing their talents and contributions to the diverse workforce and promote an inclusive environment.
  • This network aims to foster professional development, networking opportunities and discuss issues of interest to the larger Asian and Asian American community.
  • The network focuses on accelerating the inclusion and advancement of diverse talent at 3M by attracting and developing African Americans in order to better reflect the diversity of the markets in which we work.
  • This network works to make a difference in our 3M community by supporting people with disabilities and those whose lives are touched by them. They also aim to promote a workplace that embraces people with disabilities and seek to increase awareness and education on disability issues in our workplace.
  • This network strives to attract, develop, and advance Latinos, leveraging 3M’s inclusive environment and Latino culture to drive sustainable growth and support the changing communities that we live and work.
  • This group provides active support and outreach, recurring professional development and focused veteran hiring services to current 3M military veterans, their families and other military members seeking to join 3M.
  • A circle of people from American and First Nations Indian tribes bonded through native customs and traditions, this network’s focus is to embrace, contribute and promote leadership, culture awareness, community and the recruiting and retention of American Indians and Alaskan Natives.
  • A network led by new employees, for new employees, this group introduces new 3Mers to our company through networking events, company education and community service opportunities.
  • This network is designed to attract and develop leaders at every level throughout 3M to accelerate the inclusion and advancement of women across the globe.
